About Us

Brighter future, one pathway at a time!

Our Story

This Way Therapy was created with one simple goal; to make therapy feel meaningful, engaging, and full of possibility. We believe every child and young person deserves a space where they can learn, grow, and build confidence in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.

Our approach is playful yet purposeful, blending creativity with evidence-based techniques to support skill development across everyday life. Sessions are tailored to each individual’s goals and strengths, helping them build independence, resilience, and joy in their daily routines.

At This Way Therapy, we’re here to walk alongside families, celebrating progress, embracing challenges, and supporting every step of the journey, their way.

Meet Your Therapist:  Louise Skuthorpe

Meet Your Therapist Louise

Louise is a passionate Occupational Therapist with over seven years of experience working with children, adolescents and young adults up to 21 years. She believes therapy should feel safe, meaningful and enjoyable, and is known for her ability to connect with young people and their families through genuine warmth, humour and trust.

A big kid at heart, Louise uses play, movement and hands-on learning to build engagement and confidence during therapy. Her practice is neurodiverse-affirming and trauma-informed, and she values building on the strengths and interests of each person. Louise works across a wide range of developmental and functional areas including emotional regulation, sensory processing, functional independence, school participation, play and social interaction.

Louise also has a strong interest in assistive technology and supporting individuals with physical disabilities to access the tools and equipment they need to participate in everyday life. She enjoys collaborating with families, schools and support teams to create practical and achievable outcomes that make a real difference.

What matters most to Louise is helping people feel understood, empowered and capable. Her approach is flexible, family-centred and focused on working together towards goals that truly matter.

Outside of work, Louise enjoys camping, music, coffee adventures and travelling.
