This Way Therapy – Privacy Statement

Your privacy matters. At This Way Therapy we are committed to safeguarding the personal and health information you and your child share with us. Here’s how we handle your information:

  • What we collect: We collect personal and health‐related information such as your child’s name, date of birth, contact details, therapy goals, medical history, and other relevant information needed for assessment and intervention.

  • How we collect it: Information may be collected via referral forms, intake questionnaires, therapy session records, direct communication (email/phone), and where applicable, our website contact forms.

  • Why we collect it: The information helps us deliver appropriate occupational therapy services, track progress, coordinate with other professionals (with your consent), and comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., for funding bodies).

  • How we store and protect it: We keep your information securely – in locked or password‐protected systems, with restricted access to only staff who need it. We take reasonable steps to protect against unauthorised access, misuse or disclosure.

  • Disclosure of your information: We will not share your information with third-parties without your consent, except where required by law (for example, mandatory reporting) or for legitimate professional reasons (for example, with other allied health professionals you have authorised). If we do send information overseas (which we generally do not), we will inform you.

  • Access and correction: You have the right to access your personal and health information we hold, correct it if you believe it is inaccurate, or ask questions.

  • Retention and disposal: We will keep your records for an appropriate time as required by professional guidelines and legislation, and then securely destroy or de-identify them when no longer needed.

  • Website and cookies: If you provide information via our website (for example via a contact form) or we use analytics/cookies, we’ll make that clear and let you know how to manage your preferences.

  • Contact for privacy concerns: If you have questions about how we handle your information or wish to make a complaint, please contact admin@thiswaytherapy.com.au

  • Updates to this statement: We may update this privacy statement from time to time to reflect changes in our practices. We’ll post the updated version here and note the date of last update.
